Pastoral Worker (part-time)

Have you the skills and experience, and above all the heart for pastoral work amongst God’s people? Can you relate well to people of different cultures, backgrounds and ages? Are you able to engage sensitively with a wide range of theological understandings and values, offering a mature, prayerful Christian warmth in response.

We are looking for a Pastoral Worker to share with the Superintendent Minister in the care and support of congregations in Greenford and Northolt Methodist Churches. You will work collaboratively with the teams of Pastoral Visitors, encouraging them and praying with them, sharing your own experience and helping them to develop theirs further.

Each of the churches is in the early stages of major redevelopments, and with the Superintendent, Circuit Staff and Stewards, you will support them as they move forward in their thinking. You will prayerfully encourage every person’s voice to be heard, and assist in ensuring effective communication across each congregation.

Salary: £14-16 per hour, depending on experience.
Location: Greenford, Northolt and surrounding areas.
Hours: 20 hours per week, including some Sunday and evening working.
Benefits include a contributory pension scheme, and 28 days p.a. holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays.

The post will be offered subject to an enhanced DBS check, evidence of permission to work in the UK and satisfactory references.

Closing date: Wednesday, 23rd September 2020
Interviews are expected to be held on Wednesday 7th October.
